“Early Childhood Trauma and the Impact of COVID-19 and Social Injustice for Young Children”

Learn about early childhood trauma through examining the causes and the effects of long term toxic stress on brain development and behavior for young children.  Participants will also look at the causes and impacts of racial trauma and the influence of living in the midst of a pandemic.  Practice assessing children’s resiliency and discuss strategies to increase protective factors for young children.

BONUS: An optional follow up training discussion will include reflection of teaching practices and the behavior of children through facilitated prompts and small groups with peers.  Participants will discuss what they have noticed since attending the training through this reflective lens.
