Educators and parents may feel confident about noticing opportunities to promote literacy throughout the day. Can we find similar opportunities in the classroom and beyond to promote math reasoning? Children naturally make use of mathematics as they play, explore, and observe the world around them. This session will explore strategies and resources to surface math ideas and generate mathematical discussions with early learners. It will highlight approaches for engaging with children’s mathematical thinking and include ideas for involving parents.
